What It Does
Renting dump trucks in Utah
Renting a truck rather than hiring a hauler puts the schedule back in your hands. You load when you are ready and move material on your own cycle, which matters most on jobs where the excavation and the haul-off have to keep pace with each other.
Choosing a size
- Single axle
- Smaller loads, easier manoeuvring on tight residential streets, and simpler licensing requirements.
- Tandem axle
- The common commercial haul size — considerably more payload per trip when the volume justifies it.
- Trailer options
- Where a truck is not the right answer, dump and equipment trailers cover material movement behind a vehicle you already run.
Common jobs
- Hauling spoil and excavated material off site
- Bringing in base, gravel, and fill
- Demolition debris removal
- Keeping an excavator working without waiting on a hauler
- Landscaping material delivery

Questions
Dump Trucks rental questions
- Do I need a CDL to drive a rented dump truck?
- It depends on the truck's gross vehicle weight rating. Above 26,001 pounds GVWR a commercial licence is generally required. Confirm the specific truck's rating and your licence class with the yard before you book — this is not something to assume.
- How much material does a dump truck hold?
- Capacity is limited by legal weight, not by how much fits in the bed. Heavy material like wet dirt or gravel hits the weight limit well before the box is full.
- Can I haul my own equipment?
- Equipment trailers are a separate category and are rated by the machine weight they can legally carry. Match the trailer to the machine and the tow vehicle to both.
