What It Does

Renting aerial lifts in Utah

Aerial lifts put a person and their tools safely at height. Which type you want comes down to two questions: how high, and do you need to reach out over or around something. A scissor lift goes straight up over a large platform. A boom lift goes up and out, around obstacles and over what is in the way.

Choosing a size

Scissor lifts
Vertical travel only, with a large working platform and good capacity. Electric slab models suit finished floors indoors; rough-terrain models handle dirt and slope outdoors.
Articulating boom lifts
The jointed 'knuckle' boom reaches up and over obstacles, so you can get above and behind things a straight boom cannot. The choice when the path to the work is not a straight line.
Straight (telescopic) boom lifts
Maximum horizontal reach and height in a straight line, with more platform capacity than an articulating unit at the same height.

Common jobs

  • Electrical, mechanical, and overhead trade work
  • Steel erection and building maintenance
  • Sign, lighting, and facade installation
  • Tree work and utility line access
  • Warehouse and interior fit-out at height

Questions

Aerial Lifts rental questions

Boom lift or scissor lift?
If the work is directly overhead and you want a large platform, take a scissor lift. If you need to reach out over, around, or above an obstacle, take a boom. A scissor lift only goes straight up.
Do I need certification to operate one?
OSHA requires operators of aerial lifts to be trained and authorised for the equipment they use. Training is the employer's responsibility, not something conferred by the rental. Make sure whoever runs the machine is certified before it arrives.
Can I use one indoors?
Electric scissor lifts and electric booms are built for it — no emissions and non-marking tyres for finished floors. Rough-terrain and engine-driven units are for outdoor use.
